IA documents
A series of strategic documents guide and record the operations and actions of Interpretation Australia.
We invite you to explore them below, to gain a better insight into the organisation.
Strategic plan

Interpretation Australia Strategic Plan
This five-year strategic plan describes the next step in the organisation’s development. It is a simple, honest and achievable plan that focuses on amplifying what IA does well rather than seeking broad-scale transformation. Our point of difference is our sole focus on interpretation and interpreters within Australia.
Constitution

Interpretation Australia Constitution
Interpretation Australia is a nationally-focused incorporated body registered as an incorporated association with Consumer Affairs Victoria. As such, the organisation is governed by a 'constitution' that outlines the association's objectives:
1 - To provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and the discussion of topical issues.
2 - To keep members up to date with innovations in interpretation techniques.
3 - To examine the planning, training and evaluation aspects of interpretation.
4 - To strengthen the recognition of interpretation as a distinct profession.
5 - To create a national forum and network for members.
6 - To act as an advocate for interpretation.
