We believe interpreting our natural, social and cultural heritage enriches people’s understanding and appreciation of the world and their role within it. Therefore, nurturing the practice of interpretation is critical to the way people experience these significant places and cultural values.
IA runs a range of professional development events aimed at sharing ideas, nurturing best-practice and supporting the work you do as an interpretation professional. As national organisation, we aim to provide professional development that is accessible to as many members as possible. Hence, we run a blend of online and in-person events.
Webinars
Online presentation by one or more speakers exploring a single topic, followed by an opportunity for members to ask questions. Webinars are recorded and made available to members as a digital resource.
Workshops
Online, face-to-face or a hybrid, these hands-on sessions focus on specific skills and practices.
Site Visits
Usually held over lunchtime, these online discussions explore a single topic, providing members a forum to share challenges and solutions.
Community Cuppa
These guided site visits provide insights in the development of a project or site and are valuable networking opportunities.
