Rebel Heart: Love Letters & Other Declarations
State Library Victoria
Rebel Heart is a stirring new exhibition that explores romantic love – and its foil, heartbreak – through the extraordinary archive of soul-baring letters, intimate diaries and rare manuscripts, amplified in powerful new music commissions. Spanning centuries of connection and courage, meet the brave hearts who dared to love unapologetically – from same-sex couples in the Victorian era and a mid-century marriage at odds with the White Australia policy, to love outside marriage, across borders and online.

Wanneroo Bardip: Welcome to Country
City of Wanneroo – Wanneroo Regional Museum
Wannaroo Bardip: Welcome to Country was developed with Aboriginal community members, creatives, organisations and knowledge holders, and shares Noongar culture, history and continuing connection to the Wanneroo region. Through video, digital interactives, objects, Noongar language, sensory play and changing displays, it creates a culturally safer and more engaging welcome for visitors. It centres Aboriginal voices, supports truth-telling, aligns with the WA curriculum, and reduces the Museum’s institutional voice.

Mouthful of Dust
State Library Victoria
Mouthful of Dust is a cinematic web experience that brings diverse new perspectives on Ned Kelly, Australia’s most notorious bushranger. High resolution 3D scans, made from thousands of still photographs, offer near-forensic detail and uncanny perspectives of Kelly’s armour, boot, rifle, death mask and Jerilderie Letter. Accompanying these objects are new commissions by five remarkable Australian writers, adding new layers of interpretation, and suggesting different ways of knowing these historic objects.
