Getting promoted to a role where you’re someone’s “boss” can feel like you’ve been thrown into the deep end – not only has your job changed, but you’re seen differently too. And leading people in cultural organisations and non-profits comes with its own unique set of challenges: stretched budgets, ever-increasing expectations, complex internal and external relationships. While leading people is something that can only be learned through practice, there are useful theories, tools and models out there.
